Issue 55 - A Perch Pond
The pond was long, narrow, serpentive and very canal-like. At the shallow end it was fed by a couple of springs which never ran dry. The water was crystal clear with a dense growth of Canadian Waterweed all year round. The deep end was slightly wider, and it was here that we learnt how to float fish for lively little perch during autumn and winter.
