Issue 69 - The Great Escape

Everything had been done that was needed. The reel had been cleaned, lubricated and loaded with new 10lb line, the rod wiped clean, especially the cork handle which had accumulated a thick patina of mackerel oil as a result of previous bombardments of mullet- fishing bait. Aberdeen hooks had been checked and sharpened, and the landing net scrutinized for any weak points. All was set to go.
