Issue 61 - Satan and the Long-distance Cast

It’s not that I didn’t panic at the sight of a bloody great big snake swimming towards me; it was just a very subtle kind of panic. A hard-to-spot-with-an-untrained-eye kind of panic. A passer-by could have mistakenly perceived my behaviour as that of a calm and composed individual. Perhaps they would come to the conclusion that I had, in fact, spent large parts of my life wading in snake-infested rivers, or that I had been abandoned as an infant at the water’s edge, raised by snakes, and was now completely and utterly at ease? But they would be wrong.
